Stewardship payment dates

I only signed up to it all as they assured me payment would be December 🙈
I had that assurance too.

Mine is being reviewed by a 'specialist team' according to the very brief email I received from the RPA yesterday.

I am pretty sure, to make SFI look appealing, they have downed tools on CSS and are focusing on that scheme instead.

If there's any delays this year I think there'll be uproar. We only signed up on a larger scale after numerous reassurances from the RPA and Natural England that payment would be prompt, at the start od December, to allow accurate cashflows etc. We asked the question many times. Going back on that will be a huge mistake and blow away any confidence there is in the schemes.
So reading the above, and, what actually is happening with you....will you be signing up in as big a way in the future?

We currently can't go any bigger, bar adopting SFI for stacking or the small bits we left out of Stewardship. We'll keep at it as I firmly believe things will even out over time and the advice and options will be sensible. Farm good land, enviro on marginal/poor areas ....at current payment rates it can work. Adapting to the loss of BPS is the choker....agents round here are still raising rents!

they will be shut down for Christmas and new year now, god help us when they get their four day week
A 4 day week whilst 'Working From Home'......holy moly.....we'll be lucky to get 12 'actual' working hours a week!

I noticed a contradiction in the spec re hedging last Spring, I rang to clarify, and offered a simple, obvious solution, when I eventually got a call back from a sensible manager, they thanked me for identifying the anomoly and said they'd have to change it as a lot of people were at risk of being fined in the future, despite following the guidance. However, that would take a lot of combined effort as the wording is agreed from Govt down and it could be a difficult chain to challenge. I did say that if a peasant like me had deemed it necessary to ring, then maybe the Ministers who wrote the original can't be very competent. A tacit agreement and left at that. As far as I'm aware, nothing has changed.

The blind leading the blind.

So I rang them and spoke to a really nice and polite lass working from home and she spoke to someone in a different team and her answer of that other team was that the payment window ran from the 1st of December until the end of June and although they try to pay in a quick fashion they don’t know when itl land. Now I might be thick here but a revenue claim that has already been agreed in the application process and been checked of by a catchment officer and put together by a reputable agent surely to god on the 1st of December every agreement should be paid because they have already been checked 🤷‍♂️ but what do I know
