2nd best option is to stick them inside on adlib lamb pellets and straw.

How much more efficient are they converting inside than outside? I don't feed any, what doesn't go of grass goes store (this year some of the light stores were dearer than the fats by £5!). I fed a dozen as an experiment. Took a tonne to put 5 kg each on them. And they made £7 more than the stores. Experiment quite conclusive! They were outdoors

Turnips hard to beat as rape can be damaged by frost. I'm using turnips as the rape ran out at Christmas.

Another bunch on ad lib 15% pellet with hay available

Most buyers will tell you that lambs don't kill out well at all at this time of year off grass alone.

We have in the last week started to feed lambs both inside and out just to get that extra bit of meat on them (already fat though)
