Michael Fish has retired I thinkIf they call this one wrong they going to look a bit daft !
Call it wrong this way and a few people needlessly wear a hat! The other way is a lot worse. If they call this one wrong they going to look a bit daft !
Aye a my mates electric was off 4 days up there at Ellon, nowt saidWe had wind over 100mph not long ago and there was hardly a thing in the news. South England and its defcon 5
I was talking to a farmer on a windy part of the Isle of Wight earlier who said they had put old tractor tyres on the roofs of the cattle sheds to stop them blowing off! Regular pre-storm procedure for them apparently.
Is this normal practice or bat$hit crazy!? I’ve never heard it done before.

Me too!Going to be fun trying to entice the cows into a pen tomorrow morning for their TB test reading. In South Wales.
You might be on the Ukraine border tomorrow. Watch out for Putin!Bit nervy here in the South East, looking around our mobile home thinking 'hope it's still here in the same place this time tomorrow'.
You battening down @exmoor dave ?
Um , well , something to do with a lot more people living in the south perhaps? .We had wind over 100mph not long ago and there was hardly a thing in the news. South England and its defcon 5
Yes it is always a worry time. Don't look at cows before vet comes now...find it easier. Couple of years ago all the cows had big lumps and I really started panicking...was a strong reaction to the avian jab not the TB one. So don't look now.Me too!
Not really looking forward to it (never do though)
I would have said that there was actually a lot of coverage on the damge caused by the two storms, and the problems with power outages. I knew engineers who were being sent North...Aye a my mates electric was off 4 days up there at Ellon, nowt said
I have put some bags of spoilt hard set concrete on an old ripe lean roof this afternoon and a neighbour has ratchet strapped a flat roofed shed tooI was talking to a farmer on a windy part of the Isle of Wight earlier who said they had put old tractor tyres on the roofs of the cattle sheds to stop them blowing off! Supposed to Heptavac the ewes tomorrow, but decided today looks better, and move them into a sheltered field for a few days. Got wet but at least my hat stayed put....Me too!
