It is probably a virus, but then again it mightn't be; electricity related deaths seem most improbable.I don't know, I did start a thread about this a few months ago to see if any UK farmers had seen anything similar.
Really need more details on the symptoms and the PM of the calves. As for Rabbits they make sheep look robust in their ability to die for no apparent reason. However, I would probably put my money on a virus.

We have to turn ours off when we want to go spraying.why's that then, are they feeling a breeze, or just enjoying watching the blades ? never stood below one, is there a breeze at ground level ?
My physics lecturer told the story of when radar was being developed in WW2, trials were being carried out on a remote Scottish island. The farmer was asked to keep his cows in the field in front of the transmitter so as not to arouse anyone's suspicions though the dead cows in the next few days might have.
It may be an urban rumour but I have always 'known' that people died after getting fried by walking in front of early high-power microwave units. A quick google reveals nothing...When I was at Reading Uni one of the one of the technicians had just come from Marconi research. Apparently they used to go up onto the roof and cook pies, sausages etc by hanging them in front of the microwave transmitters.![]()

Reminds me of the HMS Victory story where the old lady asked her husband what it said on the plaque on the floor. "Here Nelson fell" he said. " Not flipping surprised", she said, "what do they expect leaving things like that to trip over."On HMS Belfast moored in the Thames there was a red ring on the deck around one of the masts and a warning notanger do not cross red line. Below the warning note was a small plaque with writing too small to make out if you remained behind the line. Of course everybody crossed it to find something like " The radar antenna on this mast produces very high levels of radiation, by the time you have read this notice you will have become sterile". At which point most of the males reading this jumped backwards, clutching their hands over the front of their trousers and making high pitched "ooh!" noises.
Worked every time.![]()
They cant find any virus. Perhaps they've let a new one out.
