Strange stock deaths in France...

I suppose it's quite feasible. I remember him saying the transmitters they were experimenting with only went between the buildings on the Marconi site, so there was no "real" danger to the public.

I think that I first heard of it from my oldest uncle - an ex Battle of Britain pilot who stayed on in the RAF into the 50s. I know that a lot of his stories were plain fact, but some may have been stretched a bit to entertain a young nephew.

I've just done another search and can't find anything substantive, however I know of a few things from my time in the Army which aren't on the public radar and have heard plausible tell of many more, so perhaps the microwave-fried airmen were hushed-up... :scratchhead:

Oh yeah, if you stand too close to anything emitting very high power EMF you will soon know about it. DARPA are playing with crowd control systems that emit electromagnetic waves- apparently they wave the transmitter at you and you instantly feel pain across large areas of skin.

Seagulls flying in front of old fashioned shipborne radar which was historically pretty powerful would have know about it, too.

As for the cattle, lightning striking wind turbines would cause large concentric rings of areas of differing voltage potential and the cattle would be zapped and killed that way?

I knew the US had things like that, but it leaves the Gov't open to lots of potential problems using 'blanket' controls.

All vehicles now are subject to radiated electromagnetic fields before they can be CE marked. Generally the manufacturers have got their heads around any potential problems, but years ago it was a bit different though vehicle electric systems were far simpler. A company ran some tests on a very prestigious motor with state of the art computer controlled systems and whether by design or not someone turned the volume knob up...
Well, nothing worked on that vehicle after that, I would have expected the vehicle manufacturers to send a low loader to collect it, but it wasn't as simple as that. Apparently some senior person had cut corners and just gone out and hired one for "executive use", not expecting any damage to occur. Wonder if they claimed on the warranty ?

When I was at Seale Hayne, someone climbed one of the big pylons on the farm and put a chair on top. Word came down from on high that whoever had done it would have cooked his gonads and wouldn't be having any children, but I think that might have been a scare story.:D I know metal detectors and geophys equipment don't like working near electric lines due to the induction currents along the lines.

I remember a story about someone who parked a brand new Range Rover next to a big pylon on the farm, when engine management chips and central locking were new. After a few hours all the electrics were fried and it wouldn't open or start up.
