really need to get my fat backside back on the bike.. I used to ride regularly before I broke my knee ( fell of the shed ) and it's been a struggle to get motivated again.

Lovely comment from yesterdays Tour of Britain, Borders stage winner Matteo Trentin:

I really enjoyed watching them whistle past, but it made me wonder if any of the riders makes their Strava feed or other performance data available to the public?
I can see why they'd want to keep it private, but I'd love to see how professional riders performs on my local Strava segments

Just looked, Alex Dowsett has put yesterday’s stage on Strava. 105 miles av speed 26mph 6300 feet of climbing. That’s impressive, he rode with 54 others so there is a lot of them on Strava

Brilliant!

I looked at a few segments this morning, no sign of the top riders. It turns out that pottering about in the peloton gets Alex Dowsett a top 50 spot out of 1785 riders on that segment. My busting a gut gets me up to 1047 out of 1785...

His average of 26.5 mph (KoM is 27.2) over a flat 1.25 miles also only averaged 166 Watts - the power of slipstreaming!
