A friend has a defy new this year and is really pleased with it. I wouldn’t expect light gravel to be a problem just have some decent tyres

Bg
Bought one , did 50 miles today and coxis sore ,along with lower back, and perineum.
Hoping it's just a seat issue . Measured sit bones and saddle should be good ,but clearly somethings not right., handles well and is quick, just need to sort comfort.

Takes a while to get used to a new bike , my back was bad on mine at the start, ok now

Now done 200 miles on defy and still coxycx sore, and top of my arse cheeks ache .
Tried 3 different saddles , had a proper bike fit when I bought it , tried a slight nose down on saddle which helped alot but still not right.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

You say that you have had a proper bike fit so I assume you have the correct sized bike. Endurance bikes such as the defy have a shorter top tube than “race” geometry bikes. This gives a more upright position which in turn increases pressure on the saddle. You could try fitting a longer stem to your bike this has the effect of placing the hands further forward and reducing pressure on the saddle. It could be you have just not found the saddle that suits you there are literally hundreds of different ones to choose from. Specialized saddles suit me but that could be no help to you! Some shops have demo saddles which is well worth looking out for.

The guy doing bike fit new his stuff said my position was spot on . Angles all good . Put a different stem on to bring me up.a bit .
Altered pitch to nose down s bit on original saddle which helped, bought some padded shorts helped a bit. But perineum was a bit sore , but it's coxyx and across top of bum cheeks that hurt.
Tried wider saddle, softer saddle, (tried 4 saddles so far )now wondering if harder saddle be better.
Pro cyclist in shop wondered if I'm one of those unusual guys needing to be tuned slightly from perfect bike fit as its not suiting me.

Some pointers @Boomerang
Just to add: Stock saddles are usually adequate at best but generally poor.
A good pair of bib shorts are always a decent starting point but remember sitting on a bike is never ever going to be that comfortable. The more miles you cover though the more your arris gets used to it.

charge spoon is a good saddle, but you may just have to do tweaks yourself to get it comfortable, we are all not the same, 🤷‍♂️

All though had a proper bike fit , I seem to be too straight armed when riding, and feel like I need a shorter stem , but measurements angles of bike fit say not.
He did say I'm too tense on bike and hold on like I'm trying to strangle it. Not relaxed enough.
