rubbish, but depends if your drilling or broadcasting for a start.
2kgs an acre and had some great bulbs, so much I can hardly walk through the crop with a dodgy ankle!
I sold a lot of Turnip Seed last year and can't think of any that asked for 2kg acre
Most were 1 to 1.5
I did sow some Green Globe at 1.5 kg came to thick by far

wouldn't want someone to put on stubbles at low seed rate and end up with half a crop!
Every situation is different valid observation.
I went at 15% above rec on hybrid osr seed
no one seems to recommend it but i'm glad
i did due to flea beetle.Crop looks very well at the moment.

You can sow at 10 kg for all I care, I will sow how I want to sow
I know what a lot of companies advise , I have grown turnips for 50 years , so will advise from my own experience and what my customers say ,
So you sow turnips at 50% of recommended and grass seed at 50% more? Weird

The op is in North Yorkshire. Their growing climate is somewhat different from the tropics of Pembrokeshire, and if you weren’t so Broad-brush with your suggestions, you might not attract quite so much abuse!😘

I don't farm In Pembrokeshire
I farm at 1000 ft not far from the Tregaron Hills
Some posters just like to couse arguments
Sid in particular 🤣
Maybe I should keep my opinions to myself , but if everyone did that there would be no discussion. I own a farm where a lot of trail work is done by Corteva and a few other companies, I see at first hand what's going on .
Maybe a shame If I keep that all to myself
