I’m guessing that would be ok with prior consent if they were employed in farm work.

I’ve got I sublet to a non farming person with concent if the LL, but there are 2 on the farm, I’m living in the other 1

It’s doubtful that anyone who needs a farm manager should be a council tenant. Normally you must live in the house.
This person is in this position due to the death of his parents, council are keen for him to take a new tenancy despite not really been involved in the running of the farm
He now owns a house in the village (thanks to his inheritance) and has a manager on site, who he'd like to leave living there

Is this the same farm that you’ve written about before? 35 acres, stables, you run it as a stable manager, it’s all horses? The daughter previously told the council she didn’t want it so you were hoping to take the tenancy on?

If it’s this farm, I can’t see a 35 acre farm that’s run as a livery yard justifies a farm manager, and to be honest shouldn’t be a FBT if there’s no agricultural link. Is the farm manager full time? I currently run a similar size holding alongside a job and am currently hoping to get the tenancy on over 100 acres - I still expect I can run that with a part time job in the first few months.

You’ve got a chance the council may be up for it if the manager is employed full time but I suspect it would have to be written into the contract as most FBT I’ve seen state the tenant has to live there. They may get some stick from others for allowing a council farm to be sublet and run as a livery yard if it’s the same farm you’ve previously posted about rather than doing it’s purpose of being a starter farm.

You should advise the son (or daughter in your previous posts?) asks the council. I’m confused why they haven’t already asked if they are in talks and the council keen for them to renew?
