Subscriptions For Basis Points.

Aye-up,

I usually get my 10 points per year by sitting in a one day course with Jim Lewis. Some of its a bit yawn inducing, but there’s seldom a day I don’t learn something and over the years I’ve met a new customer or two. He’s a good chap Jim, worth getting on his courses if you can.

But I doubt there will be any of those going on this winter. I’ve emailed and heard nothing back from DJL or Cirencester where I usually attend.

I think there are a few points available for being a TFF member and I know there are some available when you subscribe to various industry magazines. Which ones count?

Cheers, Pete.

Hi @Cab-over Pete (and anyone else who may be interested.)

I'm running FQA update training days in preparation for the online annual assessment. These are online training days run using Microsoft Teams. I completed the first last week, and those that decided to sit the exam straight away have all passed. Attendance on this online course comes with 10 BASIS CPD points.

If anyone is interested take a look at my website http://www.chris-tolley.co.uk/fqa-annual-assessment/ or get in touch - [email protected]

Liking the online train BASIS classroom training sessions - much more time efficient than meetings in far off places that I am unsure of how to get to Lincolnshire, Shropshire...

Lots more to do, plenty of time now when you live in Tier 4:

I thought we needed 50 points a year for BASIS, or are you a reduced registration just for lime.
Its 30 every 3 years for NRoSO.

Yes, sorry, FACTS only.

My little brain wouldn’t cope with full BASIS that’s a certain fact!

Presumably you are spared this:

This is a polite reminder that all FACTS Qualified Advisers must complete their FQA Online Assessment for the 20/21 Professional Register Membership Year before the 31st of May 2021.

Maintaining your status as a FACTS Qualified Adviser, and completing the annual online assessment, allows you to demonstrate your up-to-date knowledge and expertise within crop nutrition. It also ensures that your name is included on the list of approved advisers supplied to crop assurance schemes. Whilst the deadline for successfully passing the assessment is the 31st of May 2021, we would encourage members to try to complete the assessment during the winter months whilst you may be spending less time in the field compared to the busy period over the spring just before the deadline.

The assessment:
• There is no cost to access the assessment, just click here to access link
• You have 30 minutes to complete 25 multiple choice questions
• Each member is granted 3 attempts to successfully complete the assessment
• Information about the themes for this year can be accessed
