Hoping for that on my last lift. Doubt I will get it though
TBH, I was shocked did 91 t/ha adjusted. I think the highest we’ve ever had. We’re 1% higher on our sugar average this year. Looks like C beet is looming.
Great result, did you irrigate?
Yes. Your fields man will email them sooner if you ask nicely. My sugar beet has started going into the factory today. How do I find out my returns with the online account down? Have BS gone back to weekly snail mail?
I think mine said they have info within 48hours. Counted lorry loads so knew that my second lift was worse than first despite a fortnight earlier drilling and a month later lifting. Down to water holding capacity of soilThanks for the information, it is frustrating not knowing sugars or yields.
96t/ha second and final lift, average 91t/ha this year.
No idea where they found the moisture to keep going in the summer but the sunshine gave them high sugars.
What is your soil Daniel, edge of the fen? So is it clay under the topsoil?
Good sugar beet growing area here hey Daniel!
Thanks; and did your beet wilt very often during the summer? Mine were on fairly heavy ground which in the past would keep the crop from wilting, although not this year. They were noticeably wilting, recovering with rain and then suffering a week or two later when they had used all the moisture again.
