There must / should be some slightly more modern online version of this that isn't run by PETA or the Vegan lot?

There is no hope you know.
I rang up to insure my tractor,
Do you live on a farm? "Yes"
Where will the tractor be used? "On my farm"
What will you be doing with the tractor? "Farm Work"
OK, and could you tell me your occupation please? "Have you been drinking?"

That was NFU.
All insurers do that.......Tbf insurance details have to be accurate. They do need to ask to be clear and for the record also it could be possible that you use the tractor for contracting.

Do you work there as well? :D

The insurance covered me for contracting too, as standard.

p.s. the tractor has not moved in two years anyway. Maybe I am just as bad.

Professional asking about our business. What do you do? We are dairy farmers. What does that mean? ,!!!! We milk cows. I don't know anything about dairy farming, what does that mean and what do you do? Getting tense but still patient I explain how many cows we have and how many youngstock. What are youngstock? Um .... I explain as cows too young to milk! What age do they start to milk? Think about launching into breeding details but cant be hassled and she can't help it .. I suppose..so say 2 years. What do you do with the milk .. do you sell it to the public or take it to supermarkets? Do you milk on site. Counting backwards from 100 by now. I knew the next question was bound to be .. how do you milk them .. and it was! Try to explain selling it to processor who collects it. how do they collect it? this was really hard work and harder still not to be short and sarcastic. At the very least she should have had some understanding of our type of business before being given the job to ring us. I run into this total lack of knowledge about staple foodstuffs time and time again from town people and it seems to me that informing the public about all the technical aspects of farming and talking about subsidies, the effects of brexit on the countryside etc is total waste of time unless we as an industry, or dare I say it, NFU, go right back to school room basics and explain where milk, eggs, meat etc comes from and yes, yoghurts, cream and butter really do came from milk as you would be amazed how many people seriously, honestly dont know. in the meantime, any calming technique suggestions?

I thought you were going to say it was your new bank manager...:)

If someone asks you about farming, consider it a carte blanche opportunity to get out the soap box and really nail it, with passion and cherries on top. That is your moment. Believe me, I have unravelled the spiel about a dozen times, and I have refined the subject material over the years as well. Leave them speechless. Go for it, really go to town, Monbiot it. Try it, you might find you like it.

Maybe I've led a sheltered life but wtf is he doing with that lemon and what has it to do with hallucinogenic drugs?:scratchhead:

It's an experiment in chemistry. He's using two different metals (zinc and copper perhaps) to make a battery - the lemon being the acid. And it has nothing to do with drugs - that's just the photoshop 'artist' making a new title.
