Just try something else for me, go to your settings/general/keyboard/ add new keyboard and see if there is an option for Emoji if you have this then a new little symbol will appear at the side of your space bar.

Thanks llamedos. Enabling the emoji keyboard style now magically reveals all the smilies in posts when using the iOS app. Previously only some were decoded, like the basic smiley but not all.

I needed to quit the app and reboot my iPad for the changes to be effective.

Are other people using the andriod app (not the mobile friendly browser jobby) able to see all these weird and wonderful smilies? I can see the basic etc and these are available to use in the app smilie option but the others just appear as words surrounded by colons, when I asked a while back it was as is and just a limitation of the app but should I now be able to see and use them all?
