SUM IT

Does anybody here use there software?

Saw a demo of it today at the dairy event. Looks good in theory.
Though £650 initial cost and an on going fee does feel me with joy. It would allow me to take the paperwork back in house and save maybe 1k a yr and give me a much better handle on the business.
So people’s experiences would be very helpful

Farm secretary is here for about 3 hrs a month so costing me about a 1k a yr.
The reports are poor and lack the comparison reports with previous yrs that I have so valuable in the past.

interesting. how do you store you information? paper based / electronic ?? part of what I'm trying to assess is what I can do for farm admin in terms of value for money versus good useful information output. Comparison data seems to be high on list. ( I'm not touting for business by the way )

Have been now with SUM IT 4 years and the best company we have dealt with you phone and get an answer on the rare the occasion we had to.
That is when we started doing all of it in house.

We have been with Sum It for donkeys years. The old Dos system then Total a good few years back.
I haven’t got a clue how to use it, but the one who needs to does and likes it, and their backup is good too.

Had the accounts and field programmes since early 1990s and their Total programme since 2000. It has worked well for me as I do all paperwork apart from the other half does some year end accruals and prepayment adjustments. The cropping records tick the right farm assurance boxes as well as a useful field by field breakdown for my own use. Vat is also very straight forward sending the returns to Hmrc. I use phone support about once a year and use the bronze support to get the programme updates. Phone support has been excellent when needed. It has simplified the accountants work and fees too.

We are using MilkingCloud Herd Management Software and it is user friendly. We can use it on computer or mobile phone and very cheap.

I used their DOS system for herd management for many years but their Total system was more, and more complex than I needed. Have been with Farm Wizard now for several years and find it excellent. No up-front fee, just an annual subscription. All in the Cloud and mobile app allows off-line use and synchronising with many devices, including my desktop, phone and tablet.
As far as I know they don't do a whole farm management or accounting package, but it is ideal for me and the herd.

Have no complaints at all about Sum It as a company or their packages if it suits the business requirements.

Been with Sumit for many years, starting with Farmplan before it was taken over.
Always found Sumit staff to be first class at sorting out any issues.

It is easy to use and the budgeting system is very good. I also use the payroll as well.
Excellent backup and it certainly saved us a lot of money in accountants fees as we email everything to them.
