Looking at a second hand sumitomo sh75 track digger. I'm a novice at diggers but have alot of yard clearing, draining and ditching to do. Is there anything I should be asking/ looking ng out for? Info so far is - 5400h, good rubber tracks, 5', 3'and 1'feet buckets, quick hitch, been told the slew swing is pretty tight and all rams pipes are good. A bit of play in some pins but that'll be expected for number of hours. Not sure what else to ask about.

Track motors ,idler rollers ,check the track tensioners arent leaking ,,if you go to look at it ,run it up to temp, check all the gauges, oil pressure ,water temp.
Even though you have been told the tracks are good ,lift each side of the ground and turn them round slowly so you can see any faults and be able to hear the motors ,,dont just look at how good the outside looks ,,big faults will need deep pockets to fix them

Sumitomo has a long history of quality and respect - it sounds like a import from Asia with Knuckle Boom - doubt there is any CE plate on it -grey import - they made machines under licence for JCB for a number of years and now the Case heavy line excavators are built by Sumitomo unless things have changed.

We have a 2001 Sumitomo 12t digger, it's very good & same as a Case, when you turn the key, Case comes up on the display
It's not a grey import, it has a CE plate on it. I would recommend them

Obviously a grey import with a knuckle boom, not that it matters.where loads imported about 15 years ago.parts should not be a problem.usual isuzu engines and japanese hydraulics.if it feels and looks ok get it bought

I think they have had that digger for quite a while so I'm not saying anything wrong with it but could give u an advantage trying to haggle the price down

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
