Sumo tyre press

Looking for some advice on this bit of kit. Should the tyres run straight? Seems a fair weight on when let down and they get well squashed. Do they need replaced and if so how? Also not seen one with a grain box on top is this aftermarket fitted? I only wanted the press and tines so will be removed anyways

Yes that’s a home made adaption of adding a Lely front hopper and tines onto a standard v early sumo front tyre press the majority are on HGV 22.5’ truck tyres these are disco tyres. Just go to your local tyre man and beg some worn out spares for it. They will need replacing when the sidewalls finally give up. Just drop the roller out wip off the bearing and end disc and there you go

Yeah seems a fair weight anyways anyone know how much? 2T? Presume I could swap all the tyres for 22.5 super singles as may be easier to find than land rover tyres? Do you not think the tine setup is sumo either? Must say the whole thing looks a good fit.

If you did that the centre barrel wouldn’t be the right size? And they would catch on the framework?

The front tine definitely isn’t sumo. The tires will be relatively easy to find for 16’ rims. It will weight about 750kgs ish without the extras as the ones with hgv tires were 1.25t due to the bigger concrete filled centre cylinder

It won't be getting much work so I hope new tyres with decent sidewalls will last. Bought as a a rear weight for my loader to tractor that could also use as press and even thought rolling large bouts of straw/forage if needed. Only cost me £450 so cheap 750kg weight.
