Looks good, the cast bit where the top-link pin goes in, does sometimes break but that looks fine from here, pto guard isn't often present, and clutch pedal doesn't look worn. Pity about the wing.. and you'll have to find lift arms and stabilisers..
Even the Firestone back tyres are a pair, cracked but not worn, has the old thing not done much work?
What's the front wheel in the first photo? It may well have come with that size fitted.

Thumbs up from me(y)(y)

The spare wheels, are the originals. It had a loader apparently hence the larger front wheels. I don't know how much work it done, I haven't looked at the hours. It starts on the button it hadn't moved for 18 months (y)

The arms and stabilisers are in the chaps shed. How much do you reckon I should offer for it?

Well I wouldn't like to pay £2.5k for a Major but that's just me.. Look on ebay and the first on the list is this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/fordson-s...K_BOI_FarmingEquipment_RL&hash=item418641bea6 and not even got a proper UK grille, looks like that tractor may have been imported?
When you know some or all of the tractor's previous history it makes it that bit more interesting - to you, although maybe not other people.
The prices on ebay and magazines such as 'Tractor & Machinery' always seem on the high side

I don't know what to advise:scratchhead:

We sold a '63' NP Super Major earlier this year, in good original condition, all casting codes exactly matching, in T&M @ £3.5k! If it starts on the button, and runs reasonably, it's got to be worth £1500-£1800, I'd say!

i agree, the thing is if you miss it how long before you can find another, there cant be many of them about now

Wouldn't be surprised if that's not a MK I super major been painted, didn't the Mk 2 not have a front emblem with super major on as super dexta did. and the wheel by itself would have been an after market job with 12 stud holes.

Genuine blue greys had a lower diff ratio than the orange ones..high ratio diff was an option. Ratio will be stamped on the small bit of machined surface in front of the main gear lever
