Someone's offered me a fordson super major, I think it's 1964. Fair condition, needs a new grill, starts well. What do people think it would be worth?

Grey wheels/wings? 'Fordson' decal (not metal badge) on each side of the bonnet?
Think they were only made like that for a year or so, so relatively uncommon (although the same applies to the grey-gold 35, and look how many of those are still around!)
Have seen one, nothing fancy, sold at auction for 2.5k, so that would be my wild guess too

Not really relevant, apart from the Super in the photo, but thought I'd post this here, FW April 1964:

I remember Wright Plant, or as most knew him , Planty , and his son John, contracting around North-east Derbyshire and Sheffield. They ran a threshing outfit, aswell as a combine, did saw -hedging, drainage, etc. I well recall them bringing that corn drier to us, seems hard to believe now , but it was a proper revelation at the time!

Is this the same John Wright Plant that had a workshop in Kelsall? I think it is a Co-op shop now.

There's no metal badge, but no decals either, but it's been painted.

There are the original skinny white wheels, I'll try to get a photo tomorrow. It's in my yard so it's not going far. (y)

Cast Iron front wheels (no wheel nuts) = Power Major
Hydraulic control quadrant 90 degrees to what we now expect = Power Major

Live drive = Super Major

Would that be OK to tell between the two?

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
