If the figures are true it just goes to show how numbers have exploded and that there are too many about
That could well be the case, Avery et al maintain that nature will find an equilibrium, others think that the equilibrium will be at the expense of our native song and moorland birds

If the report is true then the Estates and keepers must be prosecuted because its against the law. RSPB are hypocrites as they spend a small fortune on the removal of unwanted spp on their reserves, i was employed partly by them for several years, removing Mink

Interesting that the article suggests "fewer people out in the countryside who might report cases, with walkers and specialist raptor groups under lockdown. "

Never seen as many walkers as I have over the last 6-8 weeks, and most people I talk to have said the same...

I would agree more people with time on their hands to go looking and reporting.

Does it say if it's just reports or actual numbers of incidents are up?

May have more reporting the same incidents?

Me thinks the issue is more about the way RSPB are lobbying and making mischief . During Covid how do you know where the truth lies?

Well when there's ballbearings from shotgun shells embedded in the Birds body it's rather obvious they got shot.

I just don't get some people's obsession with Grouse shooting, like there's other ways to get your jollies off other then shoot, poison or otherwise kill endangered birds of prey just because they eat a few Grouse chicks that you can't then just shoot after a while anyways.

Just baffles me tbh.
I view your motivation for your original post entirely without bafflement
