Lad who sorted my Higher Tier scheme out mentioned in chit chat last wk out of 100 bps claimants he does only 2 showed the slightest interest in SFI
what does that tell you all eh.

But his sample of 100 is skewed as they are more likely to be involved in CS…Lad who sorted my Higher Tier scheme out mentioned in chit chat last wk out of 100 bps claimants he does only 2 showed the slightest interest in SFI

I wouldn’t do that for 25% or my current BPS even though I am doing it already. The hassle factor and maybe it’s just me that gets it from them isn’t worth it.My point being that we are not doing ANYTHING we weren't doing anyway. Strip till, tick, OM testing, tick, keeping a diary, tick. Any thing more onerous isn't going to happen without massive increase in payment rates. Simple as that.
Hard over all your soil testing data when they ask for it, tick.My point being that we are not doing ANYTHING we weren't doing anyway. Strip till, tick, OM testing, tick, keeping a diary, tick. Any thing more onerous isn't going to happen without massive increase in payment rates. Simple as that.
They're not content with knowing where every tree, pylon or pond is on your farm, they now want records of what they can't see from their satellites.Hard over all your soil testing data when they ask for it, tick.
Not knowing how they will use the data, tick...
God help them as they their remote sensing is so f**king useless and that’s on stuff that tends not to vary that much. Can you imagine them with soil samples. They're not content with knowing where every tree, pylon or pond is on your farm, they now want records of what they can't see from their satellites.
Under the current agreement, there is no requirement to reveal soil test results. Just evidence you've done them. If it was more, I wouldn't do it.God help them as they their remote sensing is so f**king useless and that’s on stuff that tends not to vary that much. Can you imagine them with soil samples.
There is mate.Under the current agreement, there is no requirement to reveal soil test results. Just evidence you've done them. If it was more, I wouldn't do it.
Not in the pilot. There is mate.
I highlighted this way ages ago.
From the gov site.
to meet this action.
To help us improve national data on the condition of England’s soils, you’ll need to provide some information when we ask you for it as part of the soils strategy once it’s launched. This will include:
This data is one of the public goods that the standard is paying for and part of wider government measures in relation to our future soils strategy.
- basic information from your soil assessment
- the soil organic matter test results under action 2
I have to admit that now in my 73rd year with a diverse business and family thoroughly involved I thought that the “Exit Scheme” to bring forward the remaining BPS cash could be a possibility - quite simply it is NOT and my exit from agriculture will be in a boxThats exactly what will happen. Defra should hang their head in shame
So what?There is mate.

If you trust the Gov with info of your farm, then good for you.So what?
Nothing wrong with a bit of healthy scepticism. If you trust the Gov with info of your farm, then good for you.
I don't.
They want it for a reason, probably to hammer farmers with some new rule when they misunderstand the data they get.
We see from elms now that it's a mess as they don't understand farming. More info they have, more mess they will make.
Especially when the data is in the hands of those with an Agenda that is antagonistic to agriculture, or some sector of it.If you trust the Gov with info of your farm, then good for you.

Well, @delilah has asked that Janet Hughes keeps TFF up to speed, as very few people I know in farming bother with twitter etc. I understand that this is now her preferred means of communication! This thread is becoming similar to the ‘How to move a dead horse? ‘ thread.
With every new post the hope flickers that @Janet Hughes Defra is back with news. @ Inspector Cluedo never came back.
Is Sadly Financially Inadequate similarly dead and immovable? We should be told!
so basically theyve paid lip service to listening to us and its all been a load of rubbishIf you read Farmers Weekly this weekend you would see that @Janet Hughes Defra completely ignored our feedback whether positive or negative for the last 12 months and that SFI , lump sum payments and grants reflect that on November 5th 2022... Her Lords and Masters drove this mess and must also clean it up... she was warned.. she ignored TFF advice... Result.. complete policy failure at this Juncture... Result .. prepare ourselves for a future without Gov.UK control and interference...
No surprise there then!so basically theyve paid lip service to listening to us and its all been a load of rubbish
They've been hearing us but not actually listening it seemsso basically theyve paid lip service to listening to us and its all been a load of rubbish
