Swapping stub axles

We have an old 14t AS Marton trailer. It is on the original 6 stud hubs and small brakes. It is also on a rocking beam set up that is simple and works well. Would it be some one like Hunton Legg that would supply another stub axle?I want to upgrade it to super singles and better brakes.

Cheers

Just a quick Google search and came up with this.
Complete axle, but I would think you could cut it to the lenght you would need.
I have seen round wagon trailer axles cut and welded in to farm trailer rockers.

Be carefull not to overload you’re tandem frame with bigger stub axles and bigger wheels. The extra strain when turning etc will start to twist the whole frame.

i have a set of commercial axles that I could chop and use as you suggest. Hadn’t considered that as an option.

There’s plenty of clearance. Not sure if could put the full axle in to weld it in place before cutting the Centre out, but if I could it would be a good way to do it

I broke an axle on a 14 t marshall about ten yr ago. It was 8 stud and crap brakes
I had a pair of lorry axles in thenettles so we put them on, made it a far better trailer.
