Synthetic vitamin b12 contains cyanide

It’s used as the common B12 fortifier in many human products (cheap and stable) including baby milk powder. It’s also the common injectable form in animal multivit and B12 specific preparations. The cyanide is excreted out the kidneys.
You’ll need something stronger to knock off a vegan...

It is present in massive and poisonous quantities in some fruit pips or stones. Or at least its precursor is, that breaks down into cyanide when ingested and digested.

Poisons are everywhere and in most things. They are only poisons if the dosage is sufficient to make it so. One man's poison is another man's meat. [att Thomas Wythorne 1576 or Lucretious the Roman]

Cyanocobalamin, one form of Vitamin B12, contains a cyanide molecule instead of a methyl one, but the amount of cyanide in cyanocobalamin is tiny and far less than what we get from healthy foods and as Cowabunga says it is in a lot of foods.

See. It’s not holding them back at all.

I know someone who has had a brain tumour for years.
He told me years ago that apricot nuts kept it at bay because they contained cyanide in the Vit B12 in them which was stopping the cancer

Animal based doesn’t
Discuss !

Vit B12 manufactured by sheep rumen flora is called Class1 Vit B12 which has a cobalt molecule at its centre and is the only class of B12 that sheep can utilise. Whereas cattle can utilise both class1 and 2 Vit B12 they are manufactured by their rumen flora. Class 2 Vit B12 is based around a cyanide molecule and is the main source of Vit B12 for cattle run in cobalt deficient regions. Where both cobalt and cyanide are very low or absent, only horses can exist.
However cobalt is very cheaply sourced and applied to correct Vit B12 deficiency for all ruminants.
