Yes, I think Shearwell would be very keen to distance themselves if they hadn't supplied it. I suspect the same will happen with the TePari kit now as well though, unless it's one they sold you originally?

I was looking into a Nautiz X6 to replace a Psion, which Shearwell now sell as their 'stock recorder'. It's basically a big android phone (or 'phablet') that you can bolt a small RFID reader to. I thought that seemed better than a Psion, as you could use it as a capable, (very) rugged phone too, but Shearwell choose to disable the phone part when they install their Farmworks software for some reason.
It could run Agriwebb (or others) instead, but not sure if that would work with the RFID reader, or for driving a drafter... :scratchhead:
it’s a bloody minefield. 😪

Slight update but a quick call to the local shearwell guy says the my workabout pro is not compatible with the clippex and the te pari is coming back a lot more than expected at 22.5k, so unless there is a massive lift in the grant ( unlikely ) I can’t see me going ahead tbh.
4k increase from Feb last year

That ROI calculator is a bit odd?
manual put its at 80 months, auto 47 months? I upped my lambs by 30 lambs weaned and it puts me at 147 months 🤷🏻‍♂️

Anyone got a tailing handler? Looking at prattley and hecton at the mo. Both look good. Any thoughts? Find my combi clamp too awkward when you get a wriggler

You have it on the end of the combi clamp, is it that much better for dagging?
Aye its all in sequence , starting wi the prattley race into the weight create which sheds three ways as well as the combi, than then combi clamp for jabbing, wormin or what ever then last the turn over for daggin, I find it a lot easier that way

Would that be £22k right there if you bought it all new?

But yes, I appreciate you can take separate components elsewhere, and they likely run better through the clamp if they are running through it all the time without clamping?

Probably wouldn't be far off it if it was all added up

Neilo, any reason why you wouldn't go for the Agrident APR600 handheld reader rather than something very expensive, It's £534 (well up until Monday next week then it goes up a bit). You can record the full spectrum of management events directly onto the reader. We have it recording exactly the same data as we had the Psion recording. It doesn't work with the Shearwell software, so if you're happy with that and want to stick with it, the APR600 is not an option. But we at TGM and a number of other software providers have done the necessary development for the APR600. Actually the cheap APR250 at £375 will also record similar level of management data as the Psion. APR250 has no memory for an internal database, so you can only record. you can't look up animal data. The APR600 has an internal database so you can look up data in the field. It's a simper database compared to the Psion. Psion had full life history. We created a simpler database for the APR600 showing the most commonly required data users want to see in the yard. The APR600 has an optional extension stick which clips on to the reader to make it a stick when required and it's a handheld when the extension is removed. Both these readers will link to BT weigh scales, including the Trutest S3 lower cost scale. That's a tricky one for an EID reader to link to. I'm not aware of any other brand of reader linking to an S3 scale. The reader needs to be capable of using Bluetooth Low Energy, BLE, to link to an S3 scale and most other eid readers don't have this BT protocol available. It's more common in phones and other devices.

Me? I wouldn’t buy an Agrident because I already have a Psion and I’ve been very happy with it. I’ve also been on Shearwell software for 12 years and, while certainly not perfect, I’ve yet to find anything that does individual animal recording sufficiently better to make it worth me putting up with the hassle of moving data/historical records over.

I did consider the X6 recorder that Shearwell now promote, but only as it can fit in a (big) pocket and still record fully. However price is crazy on them just yet. I would maybe consider it if it could be used as a rugged phone as well though (phone part is disabled by Shearwell for some reason).

i wouldn’t buy an Agrident because of your consistent revival of threads talking jibberish and spamming everything. #justsaying

yes if that x6 were working as a smart phone as well it would be the cats whiskers, apps and all and getting near worth some of the money , as long as there weren't software updates that you had to keep paying for after the capital cost as well.
I doubt its as wet weather safe and useful as the psion either?
