By Lucy de la Pasture In spite of the threat posed by cabbage stem flea beetle to the oilseed rape crop, slugs remain the number one pest in the UK by virtue of the fact that they’re not fussy feeders so for most crops they can pose a risk. Much will depend on the weather during autumn establishment, but integrated pest management considerations begin before an autumn crop is planted. By the time a problem develops in the field it’s a case of playing catch up.
