Teejet Matrix 570GS software updates

I have recently purchased a second hand Teejet Matrix 570 GS from a local machinery dealer. I get on great with it so far but it is limited in what it can do as it is only running Version 2.04 software which dates back to June 2012.

From my research it seems that I can download updates free from the Teejet’s website but it suggests I have to have an 8GB and 16GB Teejet USB stick. I’m after advice whether this is the case or whether I can buy any new 8GB and 16GB USB’s for the job rather than Teejet ones.

I also believe that I’m best to upload versions sequentially from older to the newest.

Currently I don’t want to use it for sprayer sectional control but the ability to see applied areas on screen would be an advantage. I believe newer software versions allow “in work” to be selected so you get this on screen rather than having a switch in line.

Any help anyone can give will be gratefully appreciated.

Try using a smaller capacity stick as it may help with compatibility on the older screens as some struggle with larger formats. Best to have a couple on hand and try them out. Some of the older/legacy USB host controllers in these terminals can be fussy about the USB chipset controllers they will talk to on the stick. Generally speaking it will either work (read data from the stick) or not. No harm will be done using a “non-TeeJet” stick

Generally the safest way to upgrade is to step through and apply updates one by one in their sequence order. It’s by no means imperative for all - but definitely some terminals / controllers don’t like jumping wholesale from one major version to another major version (and skipping over the minor updates).

I used a normal 8gb usb for mine and went from version 3.14 I think it was to the latest version. Have section control module so not sure about the in work selection but will have a look. Biggest advantage from updating was the night feature so I can dim the screen and actually see where I'm going now!
