Ten Years of TFF

joined on feb 14th 2013, looks like im member number 159. I did have a tff mug but it mysteriously disappeared a few years ago, recon its been stolen and will reappear someday on antiques roadshow as an historical heirloom!!

That's sobering! I just realised I went online in 1998ish and we didn't know if the net would ever take off then. It's hard to believe it has been 25 years

Yeah, 25 years ago, if I went 'on line', I had to be very careful - you never knew if there was a train coming

He was OK once you got the hang of him. Poor old newbies ( including me ) got wound up something chronic. He had some unpleasant followers who thankfully left with him.

How did the early birds discover TFF ? I only learnt about it from posts on BFF. Joined a bit late in 2014.

Some were merged over from the Direct Drilling forum (couple of hundred) I had and some were at the Rotheamstaed day that @Cab-over Pete mentioned - the rest was word of mouth etc / posts on Facebook etc. We have never advertised etc and in the first year or so it was a big issue scaling the resources to run it funding extra servers required, we had no adverts or income for that first 18 months, @Chris F (a long standing friend who at the time was selling his fam in Cornwall) came on board to manage advertisers that gave us the cash we needed to keep it going and developing, without him it would have likely died in the same way BFF did eventually
