Testing ?

So what’s the panic about testing , you book a test then go and are either positive or negative. Your most likely to be praying your negative and if you are then what’s the point in going for a test ? I’m lost here ?

If you work in an area with lots of public contact like the NHS, teaching etc you want to know if you are potentially contagious asap and have to stay off work .

Our area is having a positive test outbreak ... I don’t see this ending well other than everyone stopping everything , fine if your a government worker rubbish for almost everyone else

It's bout time that Dildo Harding was removed from her post and replaced with some who knows what they are doing. I find it ridiculous that Bozza can just stick his friends into vital jobs, despite them knowing nothing about the task.

Had to laugh yesterday when she stated that they were caught by surprise at children going back to school or University and their parents going back to work was creating an increase in demand. I think our dog could have told her that was likely. :banghead:

It’s an aside but we don’t even have a cast iron way of identifying, locating or contacting anybody in this country. No ID card, no mobile phone directory, no official personal email register, just an annual snap shot of those who are on the electoral roll at postal addresses and a hotch potch of passport, NI and driving licence data, that’s for those that have them. Those responsible for keeping track of who is here, where they are, and how to contact them have been sleeping for 30 years while any move to organise things properly is shouted down by the “ civil liberties” faction. The result is the mess we have today. Track and trace? It’s a joke.

My goodness Dr W now let me think. Ah yes, a link to, well, a man of principle. Even forced a By Election to prove his point in the freedom of the true born Briton to walk without any form of ID card. Arch Brexiter too. Any link in that? And a man that thought meeting Monsiuer Barneir would not involve the need to read a brief or take any notes. Joys.

Thankfully (according to BoJo) we have the best testing in Europe.
Well according to world statistics we are testing the 3rdmost per million in the world, nearly double the germans and twice the numbers farnce are, yet a cording to the guardian and bbc we should be doing lots more as we are rubbish

The UK has tested over 15 million people. A lot of NHS workers or their family members are getting tested because the results are back in 24 hours and they need to go to work.

Anyone going for elective surgery or outpatient therapy is tested. You drive to a testing station, they swab you through the car window and you get the results next day. Works well. Anyone positive has to isolate along with anyone they live with.

I have a sneaky feeling more of us have had it than we realise.

The good news is less people are dying. High flow oxygen, antiviral drugs and the use of steroids have proved very useful for people having big problems with the virus.

We don't know how many people are actually being tested per day as the Government won't reveal these figures. The only figure available is the number of people newly tested, which is around 82,000 per day. The number of tests that could be being carried out could be up to the current lab capacity of 240,000.
