Nah, I'm just expecting next to feck all happening for the first 10-14 days
I should keep my mouth shut!!
TexX ewe prolapsed first thing this morning. I saw her away by herself where she had been hanging around, the night before (and acting like a ewe readying to lamb) so was disappointed to see her prolapsed. Went on my way and fed/checked the rest of the ewes, dug out a harness and went back to her. Decided to just take a drive round this lot again, mostly just to see and admire yesterday's lambs.
To my surprise and delight another was lambed. That soon turned to disappointment as I realised it was a big single, dead she's a maiden gimmer so I caught her and wet fostered the twin from yesterday on. So a frantic drive to town for lambing supplies followed, then the shed got a liberal scattering of hydrated lime and fresh straw.
She's shut in tonight and I'll head up soon to see they've bonded.
I'm not sure if this is pre-lambing, lambing. The beginning, the start of the beginning, the end of the beginning... or the beginning of the end ( ) but lambing 2018 seems to be here!
