The other thing is that sometimes I get one of those boxes instead of a photo in a post on a thread then if I tap it to try and get it to load I get a page telling me that I can't view it because I'm not logged in. I'm logged in all the time! Grrr.

Hello. That's myself that had the problem last week. I followed the link but no joy. I asked one of the IT lads in work and he reckoned it might be due to the App Store country settings. It's a problem he gets asked about frequently but one which seems to go away just as mysteriously as it appears. It's surprising that's there any difference between Ireland and U.K. stores. And then I see that @Philip Watkins showed an error message saying the App on the Irish store and not the U.K. one - I'm baffled - as I got a different iPhone a few weeks ago and had no issues in the regard. I'm confused. A simple phone reboot might solve it.

What are the benefits of the App over browser pages that are mobile optimised?
Can you cache threads in the App and reply off line and sync your replies when next on data?

You have stats on how many people use browser on mobile device vs App?

If no difference why bother with an App for a forum and just focus on the improved mobile browser experience?

Much clearer user experience, no clutter, no ads, far quicker to navigate, swipe left and right to go to next page, no footer on each post, just generally a quicker cleaner experience. I do miss the location of the poster being displayed though.

I'm using safari on an iPhone right now, no adverts no clutter and I don't find navigating difficult. Alright you can't swipe to the next page but when you are at the last post on a page it's not hard to press the "next" button.

biggest advantage of the app is that is caches stuff so uses less data which if your on a poor connection can be a big advantage

other than that I think that using the responsive setting in a web browser is better, I tend to use it this way and not the app but I do have decent internet connection here

App should be back in app store this week im told
