That's because the whole thing is storm in a tea cup böllocks about nothing.

I fear some posters massively over estimate the clout of TFF. It's not an industry body, lobbying group or professional organisation. It's a free to use message board open to anyone with access to an internet connection.

It's not the TFF that lends your group credibility, it's the actual members themselves, who've stuck their heads up with their real names, farming details and professional qualifications.

I simply don't see what the fuss is about.

Well said.

So if that is correct then it sounds to me that Clive was asked to set up such a group by his connections at Defra etc and picked people who had the views that he wanted the group to go into the direction of!

TFF belongs to Clive so of course he can do what he wants but he really should not be using it to further just his own views on the way UK AG should be going and instead should be ensuring any such group has a balance of members from all types of farming instead of this narrow minded small group with a joint view.
To be fair I don't think Henarar and Clive will have many views in common.

Unless he was chosen as the rodeo clown distraction

sounds like me, our founder member took me seriously enough to include me in the membership for which I was and am grateful, I am proud of our little group and proud what we have done and my very small part in it and if anyone thinks I am going to apologise for it of hang my head it will be a cold day in hell.
any of the rest of you can do the same, much to my surprise the opportunity is there, go for it
Here?
Was the founder member @Clive or is it the founder member of the group rather than the forum?

@holwellcourtfarm

Why did you not think that the nature friendly farming network, that your a prominent member of, fairly represented you and you needed to have another group put your views across?
I only joined at Groundswell in June.

The first time I spoke to Martin Lines was the Sunday before the evidence session. He and I see many things the same. I don't expect them to represent the interests of grazing livestock producers like me though, that's not their purpose. The PFLA comes closer but they weren't giving evidence either.

BTW, I'm not a "prominent member" of the NFFN any more than I'm an "industry leader". Lots of folk seem happy to ascribe me labels without having met me...

No.

It started as a PM thread. I, and others, were added after it started as those in the thread knew I had something useful to contribute to their discussion. It didn't go from being a discussion to being a "group" until we decided that we needed to submit evidence to the EFRA Committee. That's the only reason we adopted a name.

We added Clive in to check he was ok with what we were doing before we actually submitted anything.

Who sent the very First PM to another member of the select 14 member group?

Who gave the group help/advice on how to submit evidence to the EFRA committee?

Which member submitted this evidence on the groups behalf?

Who suggested the name of the group??

The fact you will not answer my question just proves that this is a very secret old boys club that has a very narrow agenda and is only intrested in views that back that narrow one sided agenda..

Which is fine if you were not then claiming your views represent ALL TFF members ( when they clearly do not )

Amazing @Clive endorses such a one sided secretive group given his views on how the NFU is run !
