The use of inverter technology allows the construction of a lightweight portable MMA Inverter machine which is ideal for maintenance applications.

DC Output
The XTI 160 has a DC output, when combined with the correct type of electrode it is suitable for welding alloy, non alloy steels, stainless steel and cast iron. Electrodes up to 3.2mm can be used with ease.

Thanks.
Ordered on Tuesday anyway as figured any helmet would be better than my old one i managed to run over.
Also ordered a x650 as my daughter wants to learn to weld so can fight over them.
May be in touch about a tig torch soon.
And possibly a plasma cutter?
Although temp will have dropped by time finished drilling and a cold workshop tends to dampen enthusiasm.

Welder arrived yesterday and tried it out today.
Have to say very impressed and makes my ancient oil filled welder seem very dated.
Happily burnt 3.2 rods off a 13amp supply and extension without fusing.
Wish I had learnt to weld using one of these as they are very forgiving.
My children had a go and the 12year old was merrily tacking bits of scrap metal together after only a few minutes of tuition.
Decided probably best to stop him when he wanted to weld his mothers garden fork and spade together!

That sounds great! Glad you enjoyed using the product.
Do feel free to contact us if you need absolutely anything else welding related!

Thanks for your kind comments about the machine, Tom - WSD

Mine arrived today. Thanks for that, and changing the helmet for me. Don't think the welding rods came with mine though, unless they're in the box with the welder. Haven't unpacked it all yet. Helmet looks cool though!
