Winter wheat should be done later this week, only a few acres left, then i think it will be 10 days till the rest of the spring barley and spring wheat is ready

I like how nowadays, with modern relatively reliable combines, it is possible to make such predictions as in the previous 3 posts, and have a reasonable expectation of fulfilling them.
Not very long ago it was a brave man who would confidently tell anybody they would have a whole field of straw rowed and available to bale tomorrow.

You say that….but the weather makes that a lot less simple. Most days this harvest we haven’t started much before 3pm by the time the damp has lifted with the overcast cloudy day. Only once have we cut anything in the morning due to having no dew and a sunny start.

Getting a “normal” day’s worth of cutting in hasn’t been easy. That same time could be spaced over three afternoons instead of a single day…turning 4 days cutting capacity into nearly two weeks.

I didn't say 'consecutive' combining days.
Having had 3 breakdowns/issues before we had gone once around the first field this harvest, I fully expect it to not be a straight run. If it is, it will be the first time in my 43 years farming experience.

We had sod all rain over weekend but ww was 18.6% yesterday evening.
Spring barley heading nearer to the floor every day.
At least beans not hurting or small bit feb drilled ww. Everything else wanted doing a fortnight ago. 🤦‍♂️

Finished down to 16% only grow 160 acres of arable but its my harvest over good luck everyone
