Clenbuterol (sp). Originally a respiratory medication. Also available as 'fairy liquid'

Reputed to have been a big paramilitary income stream.
yes i remember now, it turned plain bullocks into monsters, remember seeing it on ithink it was panarama.

Suckled calves a fair shot but not silly in Melton yesterday. A lot of cattle not true suckled calves more like 11-15 months that looked decent value imo compared to those smaller smarter types. Think the champion pen of 4 steers made £1160 but were tremendously well bred types around 7/8 months. Champion single beast was £1580 I think. I had six heifers and a steer out of there to average £910.

Pleased with what I had out of there but was quite a painful job. Running three or four into the ring then selling "to pick" 🤬 (why draw them to a bunch if you're going to sell singly anyway!?) and generally stopping for a chat after every pen sold drove me mad. That small smart steer was the dearest at £1075. Had a pen of lim x blue heifers at £895 that look the best value. And the first beast I bought was a smart lim heifer at £790. Should be good to kill by April/May at 12/13 months.
