I find it VERY difficult to believe that growing spinach leaves etc in a factory under artificial lights (lots of motors, robots etc) can ever be more environmentally friendly than using natural light in fields. I guess at least some of that electricity was produced by burning fossil fuels.

Subsidies must be spectacular to pay for all that robotic gear!

I imagine there is going to be a lot of venture-capital money riding on it being a success- like there is/was with ‘meatless meat’ companies.

I think it said it was California, so there could well be a lot of subsidies, tax breaks etc as well.

I am mostly a lurker on here, but also a farmer, geologist and earth scientist.
I have messaged channel 4, Ade adatapan and the BBC in the last two days pointing out the flawed science in their arguments for eating less beef.
Unsurprisingly no replies so far.

Far better to lodge a complaint with OFCOM.

Get enough complaints and they have to respond.

the presenter’s twitter feed has melted down with people pointing out how of the mark is, he’s tried to reply but he’s still punting up the wrong river
