the big british beef battle

Going to throw my hat into the ring now.
I am mostly a lurker on here, but also a farmer, geologist and earth scientist.
I have messaged channel 4, Ade adatapan and the BBC in the last two days pointing out the flawed science in their arguments for eating less beef.
Unsurprisingly no replies so far.

Thank you for doing that, though you missed one out, please copy it to one of the worst culprits:

And please copy their reply on to here. Thanks.

Problem is it’s already out there.. People have watched it and the drip keeps dripping. Only on Saturday having a conversation with a builder friend who was acknowledging we should eat less meat but better, he is a full blown meat eater and when pressed on it he just said he’s read/heard we should 🤷‍♂️

Doing some Xmas shopping the other day. Went into Waterstones. Every single climate change/save the world book had a segment on reducing beef consumption as the single best way to reduce an individual's carbon footprint. And in most of the cook books the vegan chapters began with a statement about meat being bad for the planet and your health.
I tried to find a book that actually explained the carbon cycle but I expect they were all on the top shelf wrapped in plain covers .
I see that the high and mighty at COP last week have agreed to put food production higher up their agenda for tackling climate change. We all know what food product will be first on the list.
A beef tax can't be far away.

It's a runaway train that is going to take some stopping.

Harry's Farm has a good Video with some facts and figures on British beef and its carbon footprint. The Video is on YouTube. (Timbo has beaten me to this Video)

i saw it was on, ignored it and watched something else. Knew it would annoy me and honestly I want to enjoy watching tv not have a shouting match at it... Trading standards and ofcom ought to shut them down for the utter bulls**t these vegan twerps keep pushing. It is demonstrably wrong, and therefore shouldnt be broadcast. Simple as that.

NFU = Supermarket's Union, AHDB get their money either way, and just do whatever defra tells them (see autumn muck spreading) and RT is an arm of the NFU -> supermarkets union.

Some might call me cynical, personally i'd say realistic...
I think they think we will continue regardless … taken for granted .

Sadly they are correct.. Many will just keep on going even if they'd be better off selling the stock and claiming BPS (or SFI etc etc) Work 27 hours a day tons of stress and make about 3 pence an hour. But its a way of life and people wont change - so they'll keep going.
