Finding a blocked main drain that runs over the gas main today, hate digging over gas pipes 🤦🏻‍♂️

Unless things have changed,,,, We had to have a gas man present and dig by hand over gas pipe. In reality gas man would probe ground then let us scrape 6 inch off at a time. Also be aware,,, the gas board do not know within a yard or three where the pipes are and also, they are NEVER as deep as they are supposed too be.

Not much of a digger photo but went digging for a water pipe this afternoon as it was a previous repair and we have a leak somewhere and this would be an easy blank off to test. As dad had done such a tidy job of reinstating this one last time it was very easy to find the spot!! Ridiculous how deep they buried this one…..
