The Digger Picture Thread

Our Volvo EC 210 its had a hard 13,000hr life and is quite scruffy as a result but mechanically is good just needs cosmetic tidying up, its unusual to see anything under 20t here.

Can any of you digger experts explain to me the differences in using either of the two different ram holes at the top of dipper? presumably different geometry and more/less power and reach depending which hole is used but which one?

Been looking at quite a few machines and most of them seem to be in the further away hole as per the above photo but odd one's seem to be in the other hole.

The back hole is for transport to get the dipper folded in closer not many do this though

So forgive me for moving this off farm diggers for a moment , but this just came up on my you tube feed im sure most of you here will enjoy this 16min video of cat fleet 657 scapers and A D10 moving a mountain. (We can all dream a little) This guy does not post videos that often but when he does they are good .
No cometary or music just how I like it, so get a cup of tea , turn the volume and dont worry about the fuel bill :finger:

I've watched quite a few of his videos. Those scraper drivers go over some silly steep hills, using the blade as brakes.

It must save a few quid though as when you see them being pushed by 2 x cat 10's to load on the flat the running cost in fuel and track wear must go up considerbaly, but they do look like they get a buzz from being on the edge of that steep stuff .
