Anyone else's as organised and tidy as mine?

Although not a farm office I could give you a good run for your money once things here are in full flow, I say to the wife you can tell when things get busy you see less of the desk, I'm also glad of the floor at times.

Yes it's actually the study in the house, so does get household stuff thrown in for good measure too.

If you can tell what the desk is made of, then it's tidy enough.
When it's mounded up so high then stuff falls off, then it's time for an office day.

Office and workshop here seem to be dumping grounds with the sole purpose of keeping the rest of the farm and house tidy.

My wife's instant comment on @BlackieBob 's office was" It's even worse than yours! "
I explained that just like me he undoubtedly has a foolproof but individual filing system.

My office space is like a volcano. Red hot urgent stuff in the middle of the heap, not so urgent piled up round the periphery. If somebody were to tidy it up, I'd be stuffed.

Would like a scanner OCR and auto filing system next to the letter box,
scan and file everything that comes in the post.
The beauty of email is that a copy can nearly always be found

I agree, my mountain is getting smaller as the years go by, everything is scanned and the paper copy burnt. Computer backed up to external hard drives, and a instant backup to cloud storage so off premises backup aswell.

So what scanner, OCR , and file system are you using..
Latest picasa update seems to have a good file tagging but not OCR.
Youngest boy is supposed to be coming up with something
