The great 'Wall' of Greece

Greece has built a pretty massive wall - see below - to keep 'migrants' out. Something which seems entirely reasonable and they are absolutely entitled to do; and nobody can blame them, being on the front line when it comes to this sort of thing. (not sure how great the overall benefit will be once the number of un-walled islands is taken into account though)

Anyway, what is puzzling isn't the wall but the absence of something else... i.e. any criticism from the usual suspects who slagged off president Trump endlessly about his proposal for the US-Mexico border. But then, they have probably decided it's best not mentioned, just like those around the Spanish bits of North Africa and the violence and illegal treatment of migrants there. Funny world...

I think this and the fact that biden doesnt answer any questions in his press conferences just shows its better not to comment on things politically as it can turn round and bite you on the ass when "your" side does the things you criticised.

Out of 1950 miles of border Trump actually built 15 miles of new wall about 350 miles were either replaced or reinforced
That's not what several sources from Google said, the one that agreed with you was in oct, the one I quoted was from when he handed over power.

Speaking of Bone Spurs wall, I expect the Greeks did a much better job.
Should we start calling Joe “Asthma”. 4 out of the last 5 presidents are draft dodgers. But Donald was the only one to be consistent with his convictions by actively opposing the Iraq invasion.

Hang on, weren't you a critic of President Trump's wall? I seem to recall that you were, so surely you must condemn Spain and Greece for theirs, won't you? :nailbiting:
Indeed I was. Not because a country has a right and indeed duty to secure its borders. Rather because Trump chose to weaponise the wall as a political tool, in the most base, racist, spite fuelled manner possible. Remember his “they are all rapists” claim about Mexican people.
Greece and Spain are building infrastructure to help manage what are overwhelming situations, without the drumbeat of bile, hatred and racism of Trump.

What you really don't get, is that Trump, Boris, Nige and many other politicians use everyday language that the ordinary man on the street uses and understands and which isn't to be taken too literally. (But it's great for winding up the woke brigade).
Far better than being hoodwinked with fancy, forensic, I'm educated so know better than you lawyer talk, as spouted by the likes of Starmer.

Dear oh dear! Have a read of the press from your beloved fellow EUminions, the love to the 'migrants' just pours from it. And you'll never ever read a word about them being rapists, especially not in Sweden and Germany, and Greece, and Italy...

I note you've made no comment on the violence and breaking of your precious EU law, odd that... 😐

That claim was dismissed, it was made by a Democrat by the name of Kaine who claimed trump said it, no one has ever produced evidence he said all Mexican illegals were rapist, he said some were, he also said some were good people, if you're going to make a claim best check it first

Lies, in other words. Not that they have exclusive rights to that, of course. Just that they have chosen to make a career from telling them (indeed a whole life, in BoJo's case).

I think the criticism of Trump was the dog whistle politics and the practical pointlessness of building a wall through inhospitable terrain well covered by surveillance.
