Considering this is winter , we've got at least 3 mutant variations flying around , a fairly lax lockdown , the cases are dropping at a very fast rate ?

That's my thoughts also.

It's still not really hit our area yet. I expected it to go through us this time. My wife's a teacher and there getting tested twice a week, so will know now if any of us get it.

My sister is being tested twice a week at work with lateral flow tests, she`s been fine all negative but they found one member of staff with no symptoms at all who tested positive.
Thought it was a dodgy test but booked a "proper" test. Came back positive and they isolated.
Went through 10 days isolation with no symptoms, lateral flow test before returning and tested negative never had any symptoms but could easily have been a "super spreader".

I've a box of lateral flow tests. I'm not entirely sure how great they are but generally give you results in 5 minutes.

Has she or her colleagues been vaccinated?

Nope not yet. She`ll be in the 55-60 bracket.

On a side note there is a reporting system for "vaccine failure" if we get vaccinated Covid positive folk at work, although it`s not been used yet as a lot of jabbed folk won`t have had the 2-3 weeks period for the immune response to become active.

I have an uncle in law (does that actually exist?), I can’t say he and Mrs Czech are ever so close. Anyway I met him sometimes, he’s 68, short - 1.6 ish, must be over 200 kg and has asthma. He phoned Mrs Czech (very unusual) to say he had had it the last couple of weeks but it was fine, he’s fit and well and will be back to work next week.
If ever a white bloke was vulnerable to this thing, I would of thought he would of been at the top of the list🤷‍♂️

As I have said a few times. Pot luck. The 117 year old a few weeks ago survived it. Our best friends dementia father (if ever there was a god he would have let the Reaper taken the poor fellow - but no he is safe and sound. So luck, and when the reaper cometh, he cometh. So punk, how lucky do you feel.

Well, yes, my own 101 year old, incredibly frail and unwell aunt was unaffected by her Covid infection👍.
Me, I feel very lucky, well, I have to, living in a vaccine 3rd world country😂.

Every famous person I can think of who has had it has survived fine...
Although Johnson looks like sh!t these days and trump lost an election 🤔

A woman in the locality was buried yesterday. Late 60's or early 70's, very overweight. Had her vaccination about ten days ago. The grandkids apparently had never stopped coming in to see her. She developed symptoms and ended up in hospital quickly, which was also a quick affair. Dead within a couple of days. So infection possibly around time of vaccination or shortly after. Now that's really bad luck to have come so close to being protected.

Afraid there will be the odd casualty a minute or two before 11 am on Armistice day.

I always feel so sad for the soldiers (innocents) of both sides killed or maimed between the signing of the treaty, which if I recall was 5.45am, and 11 am when it came into effect.

Why I distrust any politician going to war - unless they are made to sit in the front trench, which I believe should be a pre requisite of any declaration of hostilities.

Apparently there's no protection for the first 2 weeks following vaccination. Unfortunately many will likely assume that once they've had the vaccine they're ok.

Two hits to her immune system so close together - no wonder she sadly died :(

Protection does not arrive on scene until at least 3 weeks after the first dose. I've seen cases myself in people who had the vaccine two weeks prior.
