Lucky you. I have five autoimmune conditions. The AZ has left me with a clotting disorder.

Genuinely so sorry to hear that, but are you aware that the clotting risk is ten times higher with covid infection? Considering you aren't going to outrun covid in the long run, you still took the path that was likely to produce the best outcome for you.

To be picky the report I saw today said it was only 9 times higher with covid infection. Still blows away the myth that the vaccines are to be avoided because of the risk of blood clots.

Still learning lots about virus and vaccines. Long long way to go especially if re-infection with serious illness is possible. Trials of a drug that actually prevent infection sound promising. Herd immunity by back door using current vaccines might work. Schools will be full of it for next couple of months.

The vaccines:
  • Stop people dying from and being hospitalised by a virus
  • Have side effects in a number of people, some are fatal, you need to check the statistics for your risk factors.
Many are willing to help those that want to discuss the relative risks, using peer reviewed papers the benefits or dis-benefits of taking any particular one of the types vaccines available.

Ensure that the decisions you take are informed by people that have training in their field of expertise and if you are unsure I would recommend a minimum of 7 years in the area of virology - this is a PhD and some experience.

I see this virus working at removing those from the gene pool that are incapable of looking at the results of experiments, understanding them and taking an evidence based decision OR have no trust inpeople that could give them this advice. At the end of this, it will prove Darwins thesis "survival of the fittest" which applies to not only genes that decide general health but also the ability to acquire and use knowledge.

What are you waffling on about? In order to affect the vast and hugely varied human gene pool, the virus would have to be killing off a significant number of healthy people within breeding age.

Why don't you stop beating about the bush and just state what your post is really getting at, which as far as I can make out, it suggests that you wish anybody who refuses the vaccine to removed from the human genepool.

Harsh.

I don't see anything in that that says they wish anyone dead.

Maybe you can explain what the post is all about then?

Seems to me the poster is wistfully speculating a future in which people who don't follow the advice given by somebody with at least 7 years experience of virology and a PHD will die before reproducing, therefore removing their genes from the genepool.

Seems to me the poster is woefully speculating a future in which people who don't follow the advice given by somebody with at least 7 years experience of virology and a PHD will die before reproducing, therefore removing their genes from the genepool.

Nah, I don't get think that woeful comes across.

The optimistically written post goes on to say that Darwins thesis will be proven, once the prophecy is fulfilled. :scratchhead:

As a devotee of science for many decades, albeit one from a non medical background and who never bothered with doing a PhD (against the better wishes of my Uni tutors), I’d suggest it’s not so much optimism as a likely reality.

Whatever you think, Darwin was correct - it’s not a prophecy but a truism.

I'm not the one contesting Darwins theory of evolution. The post in question suggested that his theory was yet to be proven, but that the imminent demise of those who don't follow the advice of those with 7 years experience and a PhD will prove it. You really think this is a likely reality?

Thing is there are plenty of scientists with PhDs and seven-plus years of experience in virology and epidemiology who are telling us not to have the vaccine. But they are also idiots, apparently.

You’re reading too much into this, and now appear to be twisting words to try find a reason to be annoyed by what was a very sober analysis. A theory isn’t just proven once, and there’s no suggestion that the poster feels Darwin unproven at present.
