anyone have any tips on taking the roof of an xl cab, got the screws at the back out looks like it is still secured at the front but cant see anything, does the heater box have to be lowered to get to a hidden bolt?

Its a while since I've done one, but I think there is 2 bolts at the very front as close to the windscreen as possible. They are a bitch to get to but it is possible to remove them without removing the heater.

I'm on with a roof swap at the moment, all out from inside, not that hard really

found the bolts at the front . Came off no problems then. Painting the cab after welding is done. Top of cab at the back needs a patch so thought it would be easier taking the roof off. Might not be so easy putting it back together 😬

Cab is from an 885 and is going into a 4240. Gear linkages on opposite sides. Next job is to sort this. There is a plate behind your feet and under the seat needs fitted to allow the linkage to work. Hoping nothing else under the cab is different.

Would anyone know where I could get one of these please?
It’s off my 1255xl
The flange bolts onto the shaft that comes out of the gear box and the splined part slides over the end of the prop shaft that goes to the front axle.
Tried a few of the usual international part guys but no luck yet.

I do know someone who is good at machining , he is a one man band but whether he can help you I don't know, there's only one way to find out if you can't find what you need

Do you think it’s the same as a side drive 956? We bought a whole UJ and spline assembly from someone ages ago (Bepco?) and had it welded in…..

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
