Well that exciting project has fairly taken the wind from my sails. I was planning on crowdfunding a walk across Scotland on a slightly squint line.

The distance involved would probably have killed him. He chose Wales' narrowest point. Even then on the second day he was complaining about how he'd cut his hands on the hedges and thought he'd got an infection from the sheep poo.

Fair are several dairy herds about still. Nearly all good Holsteins from what I see.

If you are referring to the Montgomery herd (which was several miles from Montgomery) I seem to remember reading that they’d been taken out with F&M in 2001, restocked with Jerseys, then dispersed them a couple of years later (that info came from the foreword in that catalogue). No idea if they’re milking there now, but they do make a lot of good quality, multi-cut silage.
