Here it is gents. Here's the bit that we need to decipher and unpick.

Page 3 of the AIC Feed/Food Supplier Schemes Recognised By AIC...

View attachment 937640

Note the distinction between UK and Eire whole combinable crops from the grower need to be RT assured.

Imported only needs to be assured from point of first collection. i.e. it magically gets a sticker when it gets loaded onto the lorry or boat, but no requirement for assurance on the foreign farm.

3rd part, whole combinable crops from trader/merchant. Needs to be FEMAS/TASCC/UFAS etc. Not certain, but presume they can only buy from assured farmers, or is that not the case???

And then there's the fudge (text below the table)!

We need clarification from AIC about this.

And why are AIC descriminating specifically against UK growers vs rest of the world. This seems unreasonable. And is this applying dissimilar conditions to similar transactions? (which is not legal under competition laws - that is if competition laws apply, by virtue of market share.).

As far as I can ascertain, these are the rules that are causing us all the grief.

@Clive !

ok then

how about we start a “go fund me” campaign to fund paying a specialist competition lawyer to look into this discrimination for us ?

we only take peoples money if we het enough to get the lawyer ?

who would contribute ?

anyone want to look into who the best specialist council is ? and see what they would charge ?

Unfair @Clive Guy is far too smart to be brainwashed and he is most certainly not a man to be “bought”
But he is paid by RT to do a job for them and that is to Chair the Crops RT Committe and sit on the main RT Board.
As a Board member it is his duty to stand up for and promote the collective agreed policy of that Board.
He is charged with making the agreed representation from his committe to that Board to the best of his ability. But if the main Board decide otherwise then that is the view Guy has to defend and promote. His only other option is resignation.
Guy is undoubtedly a confident and assured advocate to put the case for the Crops committe BUT remember the balance of power and members on that committee. Only 4 farmers (excluding Chair) who can ALWAYS be out voted. it’s always a done deal. The whole thing needs dismantling, producers are always the bottom of the pile and picking up all the costs for others to benefit from. Quite simply it has become a RACKET but many that represent us refuse to see it.
On Monday 8th February NFU are hosting a webinar for members on RT. Three people are due to speak. Christine Tacon, the new RT Chair, Jim Moseley RT Chief Exec and Stuart Roberts NFU Deputy President and RT main Board member. Unbelievably only one hour has been allowed for the meeting. Members have option to submit questions by email.
With 3 speakers (and Moseley’s record for rambling on 🤦) there will be little opportunity for questions. Those asked will be carefully selected. This is not proper engagement of members with RT it is no more than a pre arranged free advert for RT to justify their case.

At last I think I have got it.
The NFU have created a monster they cannot control,
Guy and all the other farmers on red tractor board agree with us but they do not have a majority.
@Guy Smith becomes chairman and soon realises he is still powerless so comes on here to tell to set up a rival scheme. He cannot tell the whole truth as If nothing is done he still hopes he is in the best position to help us farmers. I think Guy is a good guy and honest and £10,000 is not enough for the time needed to do the job well.

While farmers continue to be in charge at the NFU they will make bad business decisions on our behalf.
The chairman of Red Tractor should be on £100,000 and have the deciding vote on a 50/50 board.

I agree. Look at the amount of grief he's had on here and he hasn't been in the job for a month yet.

You want to pay Christine Tacon £100k 😮😮😮🤦
I have no doubt that, as normal practice, the Chair will have the casting vote.

in that month its clear hes same old, same old

the only changes planed at Red Tractor are gold plating and increased cost

I’ve been told this by individuals within RT and the NFU who are not happy but powerless to stop this steam roller thats out of control

But the thing is he is the messenger for the NFU position. Not being top dog means that he also has to do what he is told and “agreed” 😉
yep but the NFU can tell RT what to do, so taking as a matter of fact that most NFU members such as you and I are against any ratcheting up of standards then it won't happen will it

what these people earn isn’t exactly public information is it

i think a list of NFU, RT, VI, AHDB. salary and expense account information would change a lot of peoples attitudes if it were ever to become available

don’t get me wrong here though .... GOOD people should be highly paid ..... but should expect accountability to those that ultimately pay them

as a major owner the NFU do have control of this monster

but they will do nothing about it

members should be shouting “why not ?” ...... yet again “they” have decided what you want

if you are expect to say what your employer want you to vs what you really believe yourself then yes you have been bought

i honestly don’t believe Guy really thinks what he says on this - I’ve met him and he’s not a fool
He believes that any changes to RT should be justified and transparent

What you and I, as ordinary members, want and how the NFU respond to the consultation on our behalf are likely to be two very different things I fear.
Hearing the President speak this last week I am in no doubt of how she wants to drive the NFU response.
