The war in Ukraine...

Think you find if you read all the comments it was not actually broadcast on chinese media but could have been broadcast somewhere in the far east.
Didn't go all through, but happy to have my surprise warranted. On the topic of China... it seems that the Russian forces have been complaining to Moscow about the quality of the Chinese-made tyres they have been supplied with, poor fellows.

Reports from Russian media of the reason for no fly-past at Putin's parade on Monday, were that it was cancelled because of bad weather - despite blue skies all round and clearly visible in its own footage...

Reports from elsewhere are that there was, of all things, a fire at Perm airbase, that being home to the Mig31s that were intended to escort the Russian equivalent of Airforce One during the fly-past.

Take your pick as to which is the more plausible...
Yes impressive attack on air acadamy.

Had got used to daily reports.

Hope whoever is responisble is keeping their head down for a few days. Very brave, slightly flipent but just watching secret army on talking pictures brings it home, the danger of sabotage behind enemy lines.

Of course, everyone has everyday Finnish, but for those few ignorant fools that don't... the Finnish President and PM have declared that Finland must join NATO immediately, and the political opposition agrees. Good for them and I applaud their courage in refusing to be bullied by Putin.

They're trying to cross the same river again now, as someone quipped, keep going and you'll make a ford.

Same pontoon bridge Seversky Donets River, ? Looks like a massacre anyway. :scratchhead:

Regarding grain am I right in thinking a large percentage of ukraines grain goes to putins chums in China and India?
Countries such as Egypt — the biggest importer of Ukrainian wheat last year — as well as Lebanon, Pakistan and others, get most of their wheat from Ukraine. The country produces about a fifth of the world’s high-grade wheat and 7 percent of all wheat. The WFP buys half of its grain from Ukraine.

Good job the UK has plenty of money for Johnson to splash about, another £1.3 bn no problem!!

........................................
Mr Johnson, who agreed mutual security pacts with Sweden and Finland on Wednesday, warned against making the same mistakes made over the 2014 Russian annexation of Crimea.
"The world basically said, this is appalling: we condemn it, we denounce it - and we did. And we put on sanctions.
"But at the same time, we kind of opened negotiations with him about a way forward," he told LBC.
"And Putin basically used that as a way of twisting the knife in Ukraine."
"If the Ukrainians were to do any kind of deal with Putin now, the risk is that he would do exactly the same thing and they know it.
"So the short answer is no. No renormalisation - and the UK is very clear about that."
US intelligence has warned Putin is preparing for a long war in Ukraine, with even Russian victory in the east of the country - where fierce fighting continues - potentially not ending the conflict.
It comes as the UK has pledged an extra £1.3bn in military support to Ukraine as forces there push back the Russian invasion.

Has anyone noticed or commented on the significance of BrianV’s username? Is the V significant here? A modern version of Lord Haw Haw perhaps.
Just seems like just someone with a slightly different way of looking at things from the warlords, Generals and folk with no decency but it takes all sorts to make the world go round
