Military Dictatorships and even facist spain was allowed to join NATO as if there is some kind of democratic standard needed to join

I responded:
Greece, Spain and Portugal all joined as democracies, which countries do you write of?

To which, without answering the question, you replied:
joined Yes but that doesnt mean that they cared about that once they became dictatorships maybe they even preferred it in the case of greece.
Didnt stop them from allying with facist spain in Korea or their friend pinochet in Chile.
As soon as it fits their need the requirement of being democratic gets ignored so it seems.

Implicitly admitting you were incorrect; Spain in fact joined after its fascism, no dictatorship has ever been allowed to join NATO.

So, you wrote stupidly out of ignorance, or you were aware of the truth and deliberately lied. Either way, just more evidence of your true nature. :troll:

If we banned countries from NATO because they USED to be fascist dictatorships, that would be a bit awkward for the biggest elephant in the room.....

Some members are so disassociated from democracy, that they prorogue Parliament, when the purpose suits their governments, thinly disguised contempt for parliamentary accountability, and the sovereignty of the people.

Too many of our politicians are so out of touch with the general public that nothing they do surprises anyone any more!

I have a feeling that the fact that the BBC have now pretty much stopped being Ukraines publicity machine means the war is not going so well for Ukraine, too many other more important news items to report on these days in their opinion it seems.
You are obviously "out of touch" bit like this bloke, mate of yours perhaps?

The only part that's believable is that the UK is now seen as the real enemy as America is too far away & powerful, when this is all over & sanctions against Russia are lifted as they will be at some point we are going to be stuffed as Russian energy will power Europe to the detriment of the UK. Johnson has overplayed his hand for political purposes!!

Last time I looked at a map America is a lot closer to Russia than the UK , alot closer.

You may find it hard to credit, but some people* have entirely un-elected lawmakers, a President who nobody voted for, a 'parliament' than can't legislate and no currency of their own! Ridiculous I know, but the facts remain. 😐

*no names mentioned, but you're one of them (y)

Edit: I have just noticed, to my shame, that I've been distracted and forgot which thread I had posted this in. I'll not argue about such irrelevances in this thread - but am happy to do so elsewhere.

This is pretty interesting. I am sure Russia have enough ammo for the standard weapons to last for 10 wars. So what is this? Shorter transports? Odd types of ammo, but then we would not see "great amounts"?

Railway workers in Belarus reporting that ammunition depots in the country are being emptied and sent into Russia. The amounts are so great that all railway workers are being forced to assist in loading.

There is a slight chance corrupt generals have sold all the ammo to 3rd world conflict zones.

If you look on youtube I think its 6 ammunition dumps the Ukranians have hit in the last couple of weeks which have gone up in spectacular style so maybe Russia have not got quite as much ammo as it thought it had.
