Have you ever thought of just keeping some sheep in a field with some electric fencing? Far less room for machinery to get in your way.??

You say that, but I managed to roll the quad bike last week. Lucky I had the rappa on it, as that is what stopped the bike rolling over on top of me.

Righting the thing was an absolute bugger though.

I now don't drive the bike off flat level concrete...

Picking up a wee stick welder from Screwfix today. Been watching some YouTube videos. How hard can it be?!

Looking forward to the ‘best fire extinguisher’ thread.?

Gobbing stuff back together is pretty easy, it’s what most farmers do that think they can weld (myself included). A ‘farmer’s finish’, as my old school metalwork teacher used to call it......

Cant be too hard. I can do it but it isn't pretty. If you're feeling flush go fo an inverter stick welder, they're excellent.

Exactly what I was going to write - don't buy a stick welder unless it's an inverter. And get some nice thin rods to start with too - I find light ampage on 1.6mm is great for getting my eye in.

no pictures but messed up the connector that connects claas baler to the control terminal, not wearing my glasses and getting impatient trying to force it in ? my brother phoned the well known agricultural electric repairers, snowed under with work at the moment as to be espected, but kind useful information over the phone on how to open the terminal monitor, and get the thing working by bodging some electrical connectors ? anyone else dare to admit doing something similar ?
