*****URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT*****

Between the hours of 11:30pm on 12.09.2017 and 6am on 13.09.2017 we have had a trailer of machinery stolen from outside the M4 Services Travelodge at the end of the M4 Wales.

The trailer is an 18 foot Ifor Williams flat bed, it has two spare tyres on it , a blue ladder box and five strap boxes.

Machinery which was on the trailer included:

Logsplitters
Flail Mowers
6 foot Roller

One piece of machinery was very distinctive. It is a Oxdale Bespoke 3 meter Aerator Slitter.

The reason this is so distinctive is that there is only one in the country as it was a bespoke item.

Please can you share this post? If you see anything at all that you think will be useful to us please message through here, email [email protected], or call 01246 529020 or call Chris who is our MD on 07813111885.

If you have information to pass to us after hours please remember that our office number is diverted to a member of staff between 5pm and 8am and over the weekend so your call will always go through to someone.

Any information will be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Sorry but hardly surprised it was nicked in the first place, I know it's a problem, but who leaves a trailer full of gear in an unsecured car park,
Should think they thought xmas had come early,

Sounds like it was parked outside Starbucks and in front of Travelodge at CrossHands. Just off the roundabout and about three miles west of the end of the M4. The motorway ends at Pont Abraham roundabout and services while the dual carriageway carries on for many more miles, especially if taking the Haverfordwest road from Carmarthen.

Lots of 'travellers' in the area I'm afraid and if it isn't secured it is soon gone. Lots of other scum around as well of course.

Dyfed Powys police are probably too busy eating doughnuts to bother with anything this trivial. One of my colleagues once spotted a stolen tractor in a repairer's shed and reported its presence but they took ten days to go and investigate, by which time it was long gone of course.

Two tinkers arrested near here on Tuesday after my son's mate saw them load his scrap batteries and calmly drive off. "Borrowed" transit van, no MOT, tax or insurance. Plod told son's mate they'll probably only get a fine although it's not their first offence. Now, on the other hand, if they'd been caught picking up some chips after a days baling, they could have been in for a good talking to.

My son took a sheepdog pup with him to Kelso last week for a chap from Skerray to pick up. Stopped in a services on the way up for a pee and then checked the pup which was in a cage in the small sheep trailer. A travelling gentleman with an Irish accent pulled up behind and asked if the pup was for sale before Lew had opened the trailer door. Telepathic tinker or had he been eyeing up the IW and its contents in the few minutes it took to go for a pee? :sneaky:

They've eyes in stalks and sticky hands.

Two winters ago I had a small trailer to move quad and fencer. I stopped outside the doctors to grab a prescription. When I came out there was a white transit parked next to me. There was a gentleman in the driver's seat and one stood next to him talking.

I didn't think anything of it at the time, but as I pulled out of the car park, the fencer swung round on the back of the quad. They had undone the one of the back rack bolts. I suspect had I been another 5 mins in the doctors, the other bolts would have been undone and the whole lot would have disappeared into the van, never to be heard of again.

The truly heartbreaking thing is that these stolen items will be sold for so much less than they're worth eg Rappa/prattley yards sold for scrap Ali etc. Kit worth £10k+ to replace being sold for less than £1500.

It's the total disregard for other people's lives and businesses which gets me.
