Hello everyone, got some issues with the sheep this year. We now have had our 4th case of ewes throwing there heads back to one side and ultimately can’t get up etc given alamycin calcium twinlamb drench etc but death follows. Vets are useless don’t know what else to do and yesterday we had a 6 week old single lamb with the same complaint or is this something totally unrelated?
I have read a little on thiamine deficiency, has anyone here got any experience on this?

If you scroll past the description of Listeriosis (the first ailment in the list), the next is CCN. That's often the one that's mistaken for calcium deficiency or Twin Lamb disease.
It needs doses of Vit B1, as advised by the Vet to treat. Vet ought to know, tbh. They have reference material, etc.

Sheep do respond with correct dosage. It's worth thinking about why their inner flora were disrupted, and it will be worth talking to a nutritionist about feed blocks, or something to buffer any weak points in diet.
Hth,
