Israel's attempt to devastate Gaza is disgusting-far beyond anything the Russians are doing in Ukraine.

Image if the UK Govt had bombed Derry to oblivion in reprisal for terrorist attacks on the mainland in the 70's
They not attempting to devastate Gaza. They hitting Hamas who happens to like to hide in civilian areas.

I am quite sure if they wanted to devastate Gaza then it would be a long more wrecked than it is now. But that would mean it would be harder for troops to move through when they decide to go in, so it's better with less damage.

And what is your solution to how Israel could de-escalate the situation and return to peace? I haven’t read that yet.
I haven't and wouldn't use the word 'de-escalate'. (y)

Hamas - as is - must be utterly destroyed, and the back end of Gaza has to be made watertight; I guess that means, at the very least, a 1km zone under UN supervision so no arms can get in that way. Unless both of these two things are achieved, Israeli security regarding Gaza can't be said to exist and future massacres will be a certainty. That is what must be done.

The problem with the issue in Gaza now is that no Plastistians either in Gaza or elsewhere in the world seems apologetic that Hamas went too far. The press reportng from Gaza seem to give an impression that Hamas and its followers, the plastianian people are the innocent party. What Hamas did should be so terrible in anyones viewpoint. If anyone had done that to the Plastinians executed women, children and wantomly tortured them they would such an outcry, but it seems that for the Muslim world that supports the Plasitiaians its OK for them to do it.

With the money that Hamas has been given since it took over the leadership in Gaza you would think they would have built power stations and desalination plants instead of paying for power and water from Israel. Hamas is compicite in letting down its people and causing the mire that Gaza was in before the recent atrocities it caused.

I rember when I had chance to spent time in Israel back in the early 1980's, I was amazed at the Erez border crossing (between Gaza and Israel) at the number of Plastinians coming into Israel to work every day. It is only since Hamas took control that the Plastinians have had it so bad. Prior to Hamas taking over control of Gaza the Plastinians had jobs and there seem to be constructive dialogue between the parties.

When people talk of Israel probably causing genocide, so what has Hamas been wanting since its inception it blatantly advocates genocide of the Israeli population but it OK for Hamas to have such views if you listen to alot of press coverage and humantiarian organisations.

There are Palestinians and a wide range of people from all over the middle east living, working and going about their lives in Israel. The idea that Israel contains only Israelis or only Jews is false.

No.
Hamas went in a killed, raped and tortured people. Killed civilians as their main target.

Israel is attacking Hamas who hides in civilian areas. Any civilians killed are collateral damage from the Hamas hit. Not the actual target.

Grow up, you really think 3000 dead civilians & 12000 injured just so far are all Hamas supporters, the Israelis killed 1500 Hamas terrorists on Israeli land, the Israelis don't now give a damm who they hit which is now going to be yet another excuse for Russia to up the destruction.

I never said they were Hamas supporters.
I said they were collateral from the attack on Hamas.

But 1000 of them maybe actual Hamas for all we know.
Will Hamas admit to any casualties from the attacks or just say they were civilians?
Who knows, but the point it Israel is not targeting civilians, they just get caught in the blast. That's war.

Hamad targeted civilians and raped and tortured them. That is terrorist action.

The Jewish-Muslim animosity is a fairly recent thing caused by the formation of Israel and the expulsion of the Palestinians . The reason Jews felt the need for a homeland or safe haven has been the thousand plus years of persecution by us Christians culminating in the Holocaust.

That's far too accurate and factual for old farmers on here to understand.

My neighbours are Jewish they are disgusted by the bombing of innocent Palestinians, surprisingly some atheists and Christian farmers find it acceptable to bomb innocent civilians?

Israel are committing war crimes. If the western leaders stay quiet they should ashamed of themselves. Israel’s hierarchy are nothing short of animals.
Looks like old Joe's late arriving yet again, good job the US & UK are giving the Israelis our full support whatever they do,

To simplify for farmers it’s like continually mistreating a dog until it decides to bite you. Then all your mates stand by whilst you kick it to death. It’s nothing to do with the RSPCA because it bit you so you are sorting out a dangerous dog.
